Randolph Waits
Randolph Waits is a Senior Partner in the firm.  He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1973 with a BS in Finance.  Interested in marine transportation and insurance he began his professional career as a Regional Claims Adjuster for the Hartford Insurance Company.  As required by Hartford policy, Randy studied and passed various claims adjusting requirements for multi-line insurance policy claims adjustment and policy interpretation.  In furtherance of his interest in the marine field Randy began working for Gulf Mississippi Marine Corporation an international towing and supply boat operator, operating over one hundred vessels world wide from its offices in New Orleans, Louisiana.  As the Assistant Insurance Manager with Gulf Mississippi Marine Corporation “Gulf Fleet”, Randy was responsible for assisting in the procurement of appropriate coverages, arranging for additional assured status and its implications regarding contracts, and was fully responsible for adjustment of all claims submitted by the company to underwriters including Hull, P & I, Automobile, CGL and pollution claims.

Claims activity with Gulf Fleet varied from cases as large as the capsizing of the Drilling Rig Ocean Express to meeting with injured seaman and arranging for their maintenance and cure benefits; to traveling to foreign countries in order to deal with injured seaman and their families.  As an insurance adjuster with the Hartford and the Assistant Insurance Manager with Gulf Fleet, Randy’s early professional career was spent as a consumer of legal services.  That experience has been invaluable as he has provided outstanding legal representation to clients in the marine, transportation and insurance industries for the last 28 years.
